Anyone been there? It's this 1940 old-timey bar next to the Trader Joe's in the El Cerrito Plaza mall on San Pablo. I never even knew it was there except I decided to turn left instead of right to go to Trader Joe's. Supposedly it has karaoke Friday and Saturday nights at 9. So I'll be staying away at those times. Maybe that's a good place to have a tribe gathering :-)

I've tossed back a few in thar after having a righteous sandwich and raspberry edelweiss beer at the Junkey next door. Cool little joint to disappear into, methinks. Karaoke is a full contact sport for me, though, so I go. :)

You been hanging out with them next door junkies again, Hades dearie? Hee! Man, the Mel-o-dee. I don't think I've been there since I lived in UC Village in the early 90's.

I love karaoke and need to find somewhere to go this side of the bay. Who wants to check it out? Remember, you don't have to be a singer you can just cheer on.

There's Down Low on Shattuck Tuesday nights for karaoke. S'all right.
I'd be down for Mel-O-Dee sometime soon.

I owe you a drink or three, Sarah! :)

the Mel-O-Dee used to have live jazz. I played there a couple of times. It was a funny place - felt like a total timewarp from another part of the country.
