starting off where that other thread was going, we should organize a costumed Walnut Creek crawl. So, what would both be fun, and would challenge the Iran/Contra Costa County suburbanites' sense of reality?

the obvious, tried and true, yet shocking to the bridge and tunnel crowd, you already have the cotume ideas:
Santa
Bunny
Burner
Pirate
Clown

the less obvious, more interesting to us because we haven't done it before, take some time to put the costume together, cause you always need more outfits for burning man ideas:
Barnyard
Alien
Historical Figure
Wizard of Oz
Leprachaun

add some more, attack those on the list, what have you.

The great thing about Walnut Creek is that there are a lot of no cover bars in a small area. The problem will be getting home once drunk. Anyone live out there and can handle a bunch of Drunken Costumed Freaks?

this belongs here, from the drinky poo thread:

    No CARS!
Suburbia is alla 'bout cars. We would really put a toothpick in their eyeball if we did this all on foot/ bike/wheelchair/shopping cart/ stilts/- anything but a motorized contraption. Though a general exception could be one that shoots fire or random projectiles.
BART bewitching hour is an issue- Maybe we can do this on a friday night and then camp at the parking lot where the farmers market is on sat morning- that might be a flimsy enough excuse for WCPD to work- it's only 4 or 5 hours before the first farmers show up anyway.

But this is probably completely undoable and I will recieve the ire of many on this tribe.

What does a historical figure look like?

anyone wanna pick a date? is this in feb? or are we looking further out on the playa.....errr...... horizon?

Well, there is BART. Not an ideal solution, since the last train home from the 'creek is at 12:17 AM. But if we started crawling about dark, by the time midnight rolled around we might feel like continuing the festivities closer to home.

read this as a Good Friday event- like the friday before the celebration of Estrus....er....Easter. It's so confusing that the dang church appropriates pagan celebrations, which they then condemn as satanic.
After clarification last evening I understand it to be any friday will be OK, not just the one in March or april or whenever the easter bunny comes tthat to hang jesus. or something like that.
Maybe Feb 3? is that too early? Will that give everyone have enough time to make a costume and figure out how to get to BART before 12:13?

Friday at 7 we shall descend.
Someone name a bar. Someone who's been to the WC recently.
          With or without costumes.
Taking bart means you have to be at Walnut creek bart by midnight to catch the last train through the Culture Tunnel.

Officer Down will definitely be needed to keep the peace in the bowels of Walnut Creek. Yeah, he'll piss up yer bowels if you don't watch out.

I could be game for what Rachel said. So whassat...Fri 2/17 or Sat 2/18?

I'm inclined to do a Saturday--2/18 or 2/25 could really do up costumes good and proper--which is really the only way a WC Krawl will fly (the freak flag high) in my book.

I think it's rabbit season too.

folks inclined to do some WCing this weekend should scout out some bars for the big costumed crawl.
Officer Down's parents: Pappa Down and Mamma Klown are coming into town next weekend. It might be fun to have them come along, but Momma Klown's hips were replaced recently and her body's rejecting them, so she may not be so mobile.

I'm pretty busy on 2/18... (saturday) I'm open for Friday night on 2/17

I actually don't have plans on 2/25...that weekend's pretty open..

Isn't there a three day weekend coming up? WHat about Sunday on that weekend? (next weekend?)....
